SNBL Championship Weekend: Everything on the Line
The 2025 Scottish National Baseball League season has reached its final, decisive weekend — and both the A League and AAA League titles are still up for grabs. Every pitch now carries playoff weight, with the Caledonia Classic looming just around the corner.
Single A: One Game for All the Glory
The Edinburgh Knights and Glasgow Comets are locked in a dead heat atop the standings. The Comets hold a slim edge thanks to a 2–1 head-to-head advantage, but the season finale will pit these two rivals against each other in a winner-takes-all showdown. Expect playoff-level tension from the first pitch — this is a title decider in every sense.
The rest of the bracket is already set:
4th Seed: The Edinburgh Angels will travel to face the league champions.
3rd Seed: The Glasgow Galaxy will visit the runner-up.
Triple A: Four Teams, One Final Shake-Up
The Edinburgh Cannons, defending league champions, have faced their share of challenges this year — yet they still sit atop the table. They’re tied with the Tayport Breakers on record, but the Cannons’ two early-season victories over Tayport give them the all-important head-to-head advantage.
The stakes are crystal clear:
Cannons: A win at Glasgow against the Comets clinches a fourth consecutive league title.
Breakers: Must defeat the visiting Glasgow Galaxy and hope for a Cannons loss to snatch the crown.
And the drama doesn’t stop there. The fight for the 3rd seed is razor-thin:
Comets: A win locks them into the spot.
Devils: Currently just half a game behind and hold the tiebreaker against the Comets after last weekend’s 22-8 victory in Glasgow — they need a Comets loss to leapfrog into third.
The Road to the Caledonia Classic
When the dust settles, League champions will be crowned and the Caledonia Classic playoff bracket will be set. With a one-game semi-final (31st August), followed by a best-of-three final in both leagues, anything can happen and the margin for error is zero.
This is it. Final weekend. Play ball!
