SNBL Opening Day Results: April 14 2024

Following the always-predictable Scottish weather forcing a rain delay, Sunday 14th April saw Baseball Scotland celebrate our Opening Day for 2024. In AAA, the Edinburgh Cannons have a 16-0 league record from 2023 to defend. They opened up the campaign on the road to Aberdeen, racking up their first win.

Caledonia Classic cup winners Tayport Breakers visited Glasgow Galaxy, with the home team edging the win after a close-fought game.

The third AAA match saw the Edinburgh Diamond Devils heading over to the Glasgow Comets. Last year, the Devils missed out on the playoffs after a slow start to the year. That’s not the case for 2024, with another one-run game handing them the win.

Ahead of the Devils taking to the field, SNBL Single-A welcomed the Edinburgh Angels to their first game. The new team faced a tough task facing last year’s Single-A champions Glasgow Comets. The Comets took the win, but the Angels competitive spirit was on show and bodes well for the rest of the season.

The final match-up saw the Breakers and Galaxy Single-A teams; this time the Tayport team took the win.
